PON PON

PON PON is a Taiwanese-American frozen food brand concept developed for a New York-based client, bringing first-generation flavors and values into the American grocery aisle.

Inspired by the food culture and lived experiences of Asian Americans, PON PON was created to address a gap in the U.S. grocery market. While Asian-inspired sauces, snacks, and condiments have become increasingly common, there are still relatively few convenient food products that feel genuinely relevant to Asian consumers and their everyday palettes.

The brand explores how familiar Taiwanese flavors can be translated into a contemporary food experience for a new generation. Rather than simply reproducing traditional visual cues, the project looks for a balance between Taiwanese cultural identity and a modern American sensibility, creating a brand that feels familiar, playful, and approachable.

The visual identity and packaging direction were developed around this idea, extending the brand into a broader world of food,  packaging, and visual expression. The goal was to create a distinctive identity that could bring Taiwanese food culture into a mainstream American grocery environment while maintaining a strong sense of personality and cultural character.
The project developed the initial brand positioning, visual identity, packaging direction, illustration language, and overall creative foundation for PON PON. While the packaging was not commercially launched, the project established an early-stage visual system and a clear direction for how the brand could translate Taiwanese-American food culture into a contemporary packaged food experience.

PON PON is a celebration of familiar flavors, reimagined for a new generation.
